We’ve just started carrying Korg keyboards and they’ve just started to arrive! Arik spent a some time today hooking up some of the new keys up in our Keyboard/Recording room.

We’ve got in the popular MicroKorg! A great little keyboard packed with a plethora of vintage synthesizer sounds and even a section of vocoder presets. What’s even cooler is that you can edit all of the settings and make your own sounds; no useless preset banks that can’t be edited. Makes for a great addition to your keyboard setup or for a bunch of new sounds to add to your recording arsenal.

SV1. Cool, I mean, this thing looks like its from space! But aside from the cool design its a killer keyboard for anyone looking for straight ahead vintage keyboard sounds: electric piano, clav, piano, organs, and a bunch of variations thereof. This keyboard is super easy to use too, no confusing menus to sift through making it great for live use. You can save your favorite presets too and pull up sounds at the touch of a button. Otherwise its nice and easy to pull up sounds, rotary knobs for each category of sounds and another knob for all the variations, amp modeling section with an on/off button, effects section with classic rotary speaker sounds and other modulation effects, and a separate reverb/delay section. It also uses a 12AX7 tube to help replicate the warm sound of tube distortion for its amp modeling section.

We also just got in the M50 workstation in the 61 key configuration. A great studio keyboard packed with tons of sounds and effects as well as a great deal of sequencing tools. Intimidated by workstation keyboards with screens? Don’t even worry about it, its a touch screen, just touch the parameter that you want to alter and use the slider to change its value plus it’s even got some companion software to assist in editing sound!
